kickin' it at the farm

One of Brian's birthday gifts was a weekend work-free in Saint David, Arizona, where his family lives.

We had so much fun.
Saturday.
We went to Sierra Vista to watch "Inception" with his brothers Mike and Jon. It was raining so much that day.
We are soaked in this picture!

Sunday we hung out with the family, ate some of his mom's amazing food, and played Rummikub with Grandpa and Grandma Brown. The games would get intense, I had no idea it could be that exciting!

Monday
We spent all day being adventurous and having a blast with each other. First thing that morning, we went shooting. :)

(pretending to be angry)

I was very proud of myself. I shot a .22 pistol and .22 rifle, shooting range here I come!

Next we went peach pickin'. haha tons and tons of peaches. Yum!

and Finally finally, my favorite part...
quadding!

We went on a new part of their land and it was kinda creepy.

We went into the wash and got our quad stuck in the mud...and got ourselves muddy in the process.

(I did not bring socks so I had to borrow Brian's. haha I'm cool)

Such an epic weekend! Tons of memories.

oh and P.S. I ran over a BAT! haha.

Birthday Boy

I love celebrating birthdays, Brian on the other hand doesn't see a reason for it. Challenge excepted! I was going to convince him how important birthdays are and how you should be spoiled and feel special.

With a low budget and very little money for presents, I was going to spoil him the cheapest way possible.

That morning I made french toast and eggs for breakfast.
Unfortunately Brian had to work so I bought him a birthday ribbon to put on his shirt so he would get tips from the customers. haha.

And while he was gone I decorated the house

and made a cake.
First cake I've ever made

Again because I'm not working right now, I had to be creative with his presents.

1. a desk that my parents no longer wanted.
Brian hated his small desk from walmart so I switched it out of this one:

2. A beautiful framed art piece of Jesus Christ and I found this Arizona Temple picture and framed that as well.

3.Last and the most exciting is a weekend in St David, relaxing and having fun together.
woohoo!

After work
For dinner we went to our favorite place:
it has Brian's FAVORITE burger ever and my favorite milkshake with awesome favored cherries. This time I got a blueberry favored cherry! AMAZING!

That night we went home, He blew out his birthday candles and ate yummy cake.

Brian was a happy birthday boy. :) Mission accomplished.

Brown Family Reunion

We had our first reunion with me being apart of the family officially.
All twelve brothers and sisters were there and all of their children.
I met Brian's second oldest sister Mandy and all her six cute kids and her husband.

Huge family right??

Always chaos.

Home Sweet Home

This past week, after two months of waiting, we moved into our first home.
Oh joy! Oh rapture! I love our home and neighborhood. Everyone is so kind, its exciting.

Bye bye Rental house.

Hello Homeowners to a big pretty house!

Yup that is our home and I edited it so stalkers couldn't look up our address.:)
I love it. so cozy, so much room to grow in.
We feel so blessed.

Here is a peek at the house and projects I am doing now:

this mirror was my grandmother's in the 70s, she gave it to me and I painted it black. looks great!

thanks grandma!

I stenciled the mirrors in guest room number two. Just messin' but it doesn't look half bad. yay me!

We like fancy glasses.

I did the mirrors on the wall, adding more stuff soon I made the flowers and their holders on the table. Bought the curtains and the place mats.

There is sooo much we are going to be doing this summer to make the house more ours. The front yard is either getting grass or new plants. So fun. The Interior designer in me can finally come out. Its been too long.

California

Greetings!!!
Because of the stress with closing on our house Brian and I decided it would be a great idea to get away and to not worry about a thing. Brian'a brother Mike came along with us...kind of as a going away present before he leaves on his mission(He is leaving to Peru in September).

California. is. awesome.

The vacation was brilliant, and I didn't think about our home once!
Seriously though we have been trying to close on our house for a month now!! geez!

We stayed at the Marriott in downtown San Diego, it used to be a bank back in the day!

The hotel was historical and kind of reminded me of The Shining. ekkk!

It was awesome though and downtown had crazy people and bums everywhere. Lol
The following day we all went to Carlsbad beach, everything there is very nice and although the weather was freezing and windy, we had a blast.

If you hadn't noticed before, in the pictures above we are all sporting ASU swimming suits and shirts, it definitely wasn't planned. :)

BEFORE THE TRIP.

AFTER THE TRIP. AWWW.

Sammy whammy

My sister and one of the people I'm closest to in the world is graduating this week.

Wow the memories we have had.

We refused to have our own rooms because we loved having a bedroom together. Talking all hours of the night about boys and laughing about silly things, quoting movies, singing, discussing the books we read. Those were the good ol' days.

Now Samantha is growing up and going to do bigger and better things.

I am so proud of you Samantha for not making mistakes in high school like I did. For never giving up on your goals. For pursuing your acting career and being the hilarious and awesome person that you are. I am so excited to see the plays and movies you are in in the future. I hope I can be your date to the Oscars when you get Best Actress. I hope we can always continue to be there for each other through thick and thin. I love you so much. Have a wonderful week best friend. :)

P.S. These are the pictures I took for her senior pictures. I loved how well they turned out.

its gonna be LEGEND...wait for it...

...DARY!!!
Oh the Barnacles!!
Yes that's right I am blogging about the most AWESOME show ever. what up! Brian and I are still waiting to move into our house and I have found myself bored at home waiting for Brian to come home from work...so what do I watch??

I am addicted to How I Met Your Mother. As I blog, I watch. Brian and I started watching the show while we were dating, we have all the seasons on DVD and watch them every monday...but I cant seem to get enough.

They are on their fifth season and I am itching to know...Ted, when are you going to meet your wife already?!?!? geez.

Barney and Robin: You BOTH need to get over yourselves and get back together. you are perfect for each other!!! UGHHHH! Unfortunately I thought Ted and Robin would end up together but clearly that was said to never happen.

"If a cockroach and a mouse can find love in this crazy world, then so can I!" - Ted

So If I had a say in what would happen the final season (hopefully next year because I am going insane not knowing) I would have:

ONE...Ted would meet his future wife and she would not be a snob or have crazy eyes (they all do).

Two...Robin would break up with the news anchor so She and Barney would be together, happily ever after.

AND after being married for a few years Lily and Marshall would find out they are having a baby.

so what do you think?

If you haven't seen How I Met Your Mother go out and rent season one...watch it all the way through because its gonna be...
